About Us


Alan G. Posta, Jr., M.D. joined the Carolina Orthopaedic Center in 1996 specializing in Sports Medicine and Shoulder, Elbow, and Knee Reconstructive Surgery.

In 1998, Dr. Michael O'Boyle, M.D., who specializes in Acute Trauma, Post-Traumatic Reconstruction and Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery, joined the practice.

As the practice expanded, construction on a new location began in March 1998. The Carolina Orthopaedic Center moved to our current location in May 1999.

All physicians at Carolina Orthopaedic Center are fellowship trained and board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Our staff and physicians are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical care.
